National Dahlia Society
DAHLIA Section to be judged in accordance with the N.D.S. 31st Classified Directory, 2012. The N.D.S. Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded to the best and 2nd best Exhibits in the Open Show or Dahlia Section.
Exhibition Dahlias Flower Sizes
Sizes must not exceed those stated below or an exhibit may face disqualification. The florets of a bloom must pass clearly through a N.D.S. approved judging ring without touching.
Blooms of Small-flowered Dahlias must not exceed 170mm.
Blooms of Waterlily Dahlias must not exceed 150mm.
Blooms of Miniatyre Ball Dahlias must not exceed 100mm.
Blooms of Large Pompon Dahlias must not exceed 75mm.
Blooms of Small Pompon Dahlias must not exceed 50mm.
Exhibits will be disqualified for any of the following reasons:
1 Blooms artificially supported above the top of the vase.
2. Incorrect number of blooms in exhibit.
3 Classified blooms exhibited in wrong class.
4 If a vase in a multi-vase exhibit contains an over sized bloom that vase will be ignored but the rest of the Exhibit will be judged and pointed, but the disqualification of another vase will mean the whole exhibit will be disqualified.
National Vegetable Society Medal
The National Vegetable Society Medal will be awarded to the winner of Most Points in Section 8.
SPECIAL PRIZE-Sponsored by St Andrews Allotment Association £50 for Most Points in Section.
